This four foot by seven foot cabinet replaced an old damaged hutch in a vintage four-square Victorian house in the Edgewater Glen neighborhood. The existing oak wood work throughout the house had been finished with orange shellac. The piece was built out of quarter-sawn oak board length and veneer, finished with two coats of amber shellac and two coats of garnet shellac each. The drawers were constructed with dovetail joints, the shelves in the cupboard and center section are moveable. Base and cap moldings were matched to existing construction. This project was done in collaboration with Jacquie Garrett/ JG Design. (CLICK ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE PHOTOS TO SCROLL THROUGH MULTIPLE VIEWS).
